Role
This is a part-time Independent Contractor role (10–20 hrs/week) to advise K-12 schools on AI strategy and innovation. The consultant will assess AI readiness, develop AI integration strategies, design AI-driven instructional materials and professional learning, create and refine prompts/agents/workflows, lead professional development, and advise on AI policy and responsible use.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct AI audits assessing readiness across operations, teaching, and learning.
- Develop AI integration strategies aligned to curriculum, teacher readiness, and student outcomes.
- Design engaging, standards-aligned AI-driven instructional materials and professional learning content.
- Create and refine AI prompts, agents, and instructional/operational workflows.
- Lead professional development on AI tools, ethics, and best practices.
- Advise districts and schools on AI policy and responsible use in K-12 settings.
- Monitor emerging AI trends and tools relevant to education.
Requirements
- US-based candidate with strong English communication skills.
- 5+ years of K-12 education experience (e.g., teacher, instructional coach, tech coordinator, district leader).
- Proven experience with AI tools, including prompt engineering, agent development, and workflow automation.
- Strong instructional design skills and ability to create engaging, standards-aligned learning experiences.
- Deep understanding of digital literacy, media fluency, and computer science in K-12 settings.
- Ability to connect instructional goals with AI solutions and drive adoption.
- Self-motivated consultant able to work independently and lead professional learning.
Nice to Have
- Experience with strategic edtech planning such as NGTP (Next Generation Technology Program) or similar initiatives.
- Familiarity with ISTE standards and project-based learning.
- Background in school technology audits, transformation projects, digital citizenship, ethics, and AI safety.
