Senior Creative Technologist, Search

Role

Senior Creative Technologist on the Google Search UX team responsible for developing interactive, production-ready prototypes that test and validate design concepts and drive new product experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceive, build, and iterate engaging prototypes for research, validation, and feature exploration.
• Partner with researchers, designers, and engineers to define new features and test concepts.
• Collaborate with interaction and motion designers to deliver high-quality animation, polish, and interactive behavior.
• Lead or contribute to projects with a systems-thinking approach and advocate for user needs across platforms.
• Identify emerging needs, develop interaction design best practices, and contribute to pattern documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in front-end development, technical UX design, or prototyping.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience with vibe coding tools such as AI Studio, Cursor, Antigravity, or Firebase Studio.
• Experience in motion design related to physics, patterns, and visual design elements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in technical leadership and managing projects.
• Experience developing with native iOS technologies (Swift) and Android and working with front-end engineering teams for native app UIs.
• Experience working with hosted back-ends (e.g., Firebase, Supabase) to power prototypes.
• Familiarity working across full tech stacks and production environments.

Compensation

US base salary range: $151,000 - $222,000 (base only). Position also includes bonus, equity, and additional benefits.
