Role

Senior Staff Product Designer for AI Projects based in Mountain View, CA. Lead the foundational user experience and design vision for an early-stage AI product, collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and AI scientists. Responsible for delivering engineering-ready designs and driving experimentation and iteration. Compensation (Bay Area, CA): $194,000 - $262,500.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply design thinking to complex AI/ML, data, and analytics problems to create end-to-end user experiences.
  • Transform abstract concepts and technical details into clear, compelling designs.
  • Conduct and oversee qualitative research (contextual inquiry, prototype testing) and quantitative analysis (usage analytics) to inform design decisions.
  • Create visions, storyboards, presentations, interaction specs, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Communicate designs effectively to leaders, partners, and customers.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to deliver engineering-ready designs.
  • Drive rapid experimentation, testing, and iteration to deliver agentic experiences.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of mobile & consumer or enterprise experience in interaction design, product design, or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or relevant field; Master’s preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of design principles and methods.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; experience communicating with executive leadership.
  • Expertise in storyboarding, wireframing, and prototyping.
  • Mastery of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and XD; updated online portfolio required.
  • Comfortable with rapid experimentation and outside-the-box thinking in a fast-moving, high-visibility environment.
  • Bonus: Experience applying AI/ML in experiences, HTML/CSS prototyping skills, and familiarity with vibe coding/designing tools.
