The role focuses on enabling clinicians through platforms and services, driving DevOps/CI-CD practices, mentoring engineers, and using AI-assisted development tools.

Job Description

Role

Senior Staff Software Engineer responsible for designing, constructing, and implementing scalable distributed software and data products within ITG Accelerated Technologies and DT&I. The engineer will enable physician and clinician workflows by building platforms and services, provide production problem resolution, and act as a technical leader and mentor across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical expert across integrations and project teams: requirements gathering, design, development, and testing.
  • Design scalable distributed systems and clearly communicate architecture (C4 model).
  • Produce high-quality, modular, reusable code and enterprise-level design documentation (use cases, architecture docs, service mapping, consumer guides, transition docs).
  • Design and execute DevOps strategies, including CI/CD and automated deployment frameworks.
  • Create Service Level Agreements and non-functional specifications; ensure coding, naming, security, and versioning standards.
  • Lead troubleshooting, provide on-call/after-hours support as needed, and escalate product issues and risks appropriately.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced engineers; participate in hiring, performance evaluation, and vendor/contract discussions.
  • Work with Enterprise Architects on technology evaluation and product selection.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Experience: Seven or more years of related experience.
  • Strong application development skills with technologies such as ReactJS, Node.js, Vue.js, NestJS, TypeScript, and/or Python.
  • 7+ years across areas including cloud development (Google Cloud Platform preferred), Python and SQL, data engineering (ingest/transform/feature engineering), streaming and event-driven architectures, REST API design, and DevOps practices.
  • Deep experience with container platforms and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud Run.
  • Experience with container/production monitoring: Cloud Monitoring, SysDig, Data Dog, AppDynamics, New Relic, Nagios, Zabbix.
  • Familiarity with distributed version control, data acquisition/cleansing/parsing, Linux command line, testing methodologies, and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Experience using AI-assisted tooling (required): GitHub Copilot, Lovable.dev, v0.dev, https://bolt.new/.
  • Preferred: healthcare domain experience and familiarity with data science concepts.
  • Soft skills: excellent written and verbal communication, adaptability to change, ability to work independently and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
