1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
- GitHub username, email, and profile data (via OAuth)
- Avatar/profile picture from GitHub
- Display name and bio (if you provide it)
1.2 Project Information
- Project URLs, screenshots, descriptions you submit
- GitHub repository data (commit history, messages) if you enable Build in Public
- Upvotes, comments, and interactions
1.3 Usage Data
- Pages you visit, features you use
- Browser type, device information
- IP address, approximate location (country/city)
- Analytics via PostHog (anonymized)
1.4 Payment Information
- Payment data processed by Stripe (we don't store card numbers)
- Transaction history for Vibe Board purchases
1.5 Communications
- Emails you send us
- Support conversations
2. How We Use Your Information
2.1 To Provide the Service
- Display your profile and projects
- Track Build in Public progress via GitHub commits
- Enable social features (follows, comments, upvotes)
- Process Vibe Board payments
2.2 To Improve the Service
- Analyze usage patterns (anonymized)
- Fix bugs and improve features
- Understand what users find valuable
2.3 To Communicate
- Send important updates about the Service
- Respond to your inquiries
- Notify you about activity (optional, can disable in settings)
2.4 AI Processing
- Summarize GitHub commits using OpenAI API
- Process Vibe Board prompts using Anthropic Claude API
- Your data is sent to these third-party AI services for processing
3. Information Sharing
3.1 Public Information By default, the following is PUBLIC:
- Your profile (username, avatar, bio, projects)
- Projects you submit
- Comments and upvotes
- Build in Public updates (if enabled)
3.2 Third-Party Services We share data with:
- GitHub (authentication only)
- Stripe (payment processing)
- OpenAI (commit summarization)
- Anthropic (Vibe Board edits)
- Supabase (data storage)
- PostHog (anonymized analytics)
These services have their own privacy policies.
3.3 We NEVER Share:
- Your private GitHub repository contents
- Your email address (unless you make it public)
- Your payment information (handled by Stripe)
3.4 Legal Requirements We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
4. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained while your account is active
- Deleted accounts: Data removed within 30 days (except legally required records)
- Public content: May remain in backups for 90 days
- Analytics: Anonymized data retained indefinitely
5. Your Rights
5.1 Access & Control
- View your data in account settings
- Edit your profile, projects, and preferences
- Download your data (email us: [email protected])
5.2 Delete Your Data
- Delete individual projects anytime
- Delete your entire account in Settings
- Request complete data deletion: [email protected]
5.3 Opt-Out
- Disable email notifications in Settings
- Disconnect GitHub integration anytime
- Use ad blockers (we don't show ads, but you can block analytics)
6. Cookies & Tracking
6.1 Cookies We Use
- Authentication cookie (required for login)
- Session cookie (required for functionality)
- Analytics cookies (PostHog, can be blocked)
6.2 Third-Party Tracking
- GitHub OAuth
- Stripe (payment forms)
- PostHog (analytics)
You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features won't work.
7. Children's Privacy
VibeHackers is not intended for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you're a parent and believe we have data about your child, contact us.
8. International Users
VibeHackers operates from Spain (EU). Your data may be processed in:
- EU (Supabase servers)
- USA (GitHub, OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe)
By using VibeHackers, you consent to international data transfers.
9. GDPR Rights (EU Users)
If you're in the EU, you have additional rights:
- Right to access your data
- Right to rectification (correct inaccurate data)
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to data portability (export your data)
- Right to object to processing
