Compact the current conversation into a handoff document for another agent to pick up.
Install with the open skills CLI (global, non-interactive — available in every Claude Code session):
npx skills add mattpocock/skills --skill "handoff" -g -a claude-code -yOr manually — clone and copy the skill directory (SKILL.md + companion files):
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/mattpocock/skills /tmp/skills && cp -r /tmp/skills/skills/productivity/handoff ~/.claude/skills/handoff-mattpocockThis skill is a directory: SKILL.md is the entry point; the files below ship with it.

Write a handoff document summarising the current conversation so a fresh agent can continue the work. Save to the temporary directory of the user's OS - not the current workspace.
Include a "suggested skills" section in the document, which suggests skills that the agent should invoke.
Do not duplicate content already captured in other artifacts (specs, plans, ADRs, issues, commits, diffs). Reference them by path or URL instead.
Redact any sensitive information, such as API keys, passwords, or personally identifiable information.
If the user passed arguments, treat them as a description of what the next session will focus on and tailor the doc accordingly.
You MUST use this before any creative work - creating features, building components, adding functionality, or modifying behavior. Explores user intent, requirements and design before implementation.
Use when facing 2+ independent tasks that can be worked on without shared state or sequential dependencies
Use when you have a written implementation plan to execute in a separate session with review checkpoints
