Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Install from source** — No published PyPI package. Clone the repo and install locally. Run: `git clone https://github.com/ufhouck/aicost.git && cd aicost && pip install -e .` (https://github.com/ufhouck/aicost)

Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `aicost`
- args: ["mcp"]

Note: Install the aicost CLI, then run `aicost mcp` for the stdio MCP server.
