The Anytype MCP Server is a Model Context Protocol server that enables AI assistants to interact with Anytype's API through natural language, facilitating knowledge management via conversation.
From the registry: Official MCP server for Anytype API - your encrypted, local and collaborative wiki.
Please install the `anytype-mcp` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Get Anytype API key** — Open Anytype -> App Settings -> API Keys -> Create new
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `npx`
- args: ["-y","@anyproto/anytype-mcp"]
- required environment variables:
- `OPENAPI_MCP_HEADERS`: JSON-encoded headers containing Authorization bearer token and Anytype-Version (example: `{"Authorization":"Bearer <YOUR_API_KEY>", "Anytype-Version":"2025-11-08"}`)
- optional environment variables:
- `ANYTYPE_API_BASE_URL`: Custom Anytype API base URL (default http://127.0.0.1:31009; anytype-cli uses port 31012) (example: `http://localhost:31012`)
Note: Wraps Anytype's OpenAPI via an OpenAPI-MCP shim. Requires Anytype running locally with API exposed.
Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders. After adding it, tell me how to verify the server is connected.OPENAPI_MCP_HEADERSrequiredContains the Authorization token and Anytype version for API access.ANYTYPE_API_BASE_URLCustom base URL for the Anytype API.Control Unreal Engine to browse assets, import content, and manage levels and sequences.
