Install & configure

Prerequisites

required
Language interpreters/compilers in PATH
Make sure interpreter or compiler of the programming language you want to run is set in PATH (e.g., node, python, ruby, go).

Install in your client

Paste into the AI you're chatting with — it will figure out the rest

Please install the `code-runner` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).

Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):

Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `npx`
- args: ["-y","mcp-server-code-runner@latest"]

Note: Also supports HTTP transport via `mcp-server-code-runner --transport http` after global install.
