An MCP server that provides semantic search over a local, version-pinned documentation index stored on the user’s machine. It exposes tools to search libraries and retrieve ranked documentation snippets, using embeddings and cosine similarity over a local Turso database.
From the registry: Local-first MCP server: semantic search over library docs. No cloud, no API key, no telemetry.
$ brew install laradji/deadzone/deadzonehttps://github.com/laradji/deadzone/releases},{Please install the `deadzone` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Optional prerequisites:
- Install Deadzone binary — Install the Deadzone executable via Homebrew on macOS, or download the Linux release binary/AppImage. The README also provides a Docker image as an alternative runtime. Run: `brew install laradji/deadzone/deadzone` (https://github.com/laradji/deadzone/releases},{)
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `deadzone`
- args: ["server"]
- optional environment variables:
- `DEADZONE_ORT_LIB_PATH`: Path to a manually provided libonnxruntime shared library; skips auto-download. (example: `<path-to-libonnxruntime>`)
- `DEADZONE_ORT_CACHE`: Override the ONNX Runtime library cache directory. (example: `<path-to-ort-cache>`)
- `DEADZONE_HUGOT_CACHE`: Override the model weights cache directory. (example: `<path-to-hugot-cache>`)
- `DEADZONE_DB_CACHE`: Override the deadzone.db cache directory. (example: `<path-to-db-cache>`)
- `DEADZONE_DB_OFFLINE`: If set to 1, disables network access and requires all needed assets to already be cached. In the container image this is set by default. (example: `1`)
- `DEADZONE_DB_AUTOUPDATE`: If set to 0, disables the boot-time database freshness probe. (example: `0`)
Note: Prefer the native binary path for portability. If using a downloaded binary instead of PATH-installed 'deadzone', set the command to the full executable path such as '<path-to-deadzone>' with args ['server']. A container-based stdio alternative is command 'docker' with args ['run','--rm','-i','ghcr.io/laradji/deadzone:latest','server']. First native launch may download the pinned database and ONNX runtime unless offline caches are already populated.
Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders. After adding it, tell me how to verify the server is connected.DEADZONE_DB_OFFLINErequiredForces offline mode and refuses any network access; if nothing is cached, startup fails. It is set by default in the container image.MCP server for searching Airweave collections with natural language queries.
