MCP server that checks npm and PyPI packages against a live backend to report dependency freshness, maintenance status, release recency, deprecation/yank/archived flags, CVE count, and an alternative if the package is dead.
From the registry: Live npm/PyPI dependency-health verdicts so AI agents stop recommending stale or CVE'd packages
Please install the `freshdeps-mcp` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Install Node.js** — Node.js is required to run the MCP server via npx.
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `npx`
- args: ["-y","freshdeps-mcp"]
- optional environment variables:
- `FRESHDEPS_API_BASE`: Base URL for the Freshdeps backend API. Defaults to the production service if omitted. (example: `<your-freshdeps-api-base>`)
- `GOATCOUNTER_CODE`: Optional fire-and-forget usage analytics code. (example: `<your-goatcounter-code>`)
Note: Prefer the published npx install path. The server communicates over JSON-RPC via stdio.
Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders. After adding it, tell me how to verify the server is connected.FRESHDEPS_API_BASEBase URL for the freshness backend API; defaults to the production service.GOATCOUNTER_CODEOptional usage analytics code.Meta Ads MCP (Facebook + Instagram) - analyze performance, manage budgets, pause campaigns.
