An MCP server that resolves Hungarian legislation from the official Nemzeti Jogszabálytár (NJT) by native ELI and returns the official ELI URI, a human-readable citation, and a link to the source document. It supports fetching metadata, full text, and lookup values for document types and issuer codes.
From the registry: MCP server for Hungarian legislation (Nemzeti Jogszabalytar): native ELI and verifiable citations.
$ python -m pip install hu-eli-mcpPlease install the `hu-eli-mcp` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Install Python** — Python is required to install and run the MCP server. On Windows 11 with Smart App Control, use the signed python.org Python interpreter and run installation via `python -m pip`. (https://www.python.org/)
- **Install the hu-eli-mcp package** — Prefer installing the published package rather than the editable local development install shown in the README. Run: `python -m pip install hu-eli-mcp`
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `hu-eli-mcp`
- args: []
- optional environment variables:
- `HU_ELI_BASE_URL`: Base URL for the Hungarian national legislation database. (example: `<your-base-url>`)
- `HU_ELI_CACHE_DIR`: Directory for on-disk cache files. (example: `<your-cache-dir>`)
- `HU_ELI_AUDIT_DIR`: Directory for audit log output. (example: `<your-audit-dir>`)
Note: Default stdio command is `hu-eli-mcp` after package installation. On Windows 11 with Smart App Control, use `python` with args `['-m', 'hu_eli_mcp']` instead of the generated executable launcher.
