Ivd

Please install the `ivd` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).

Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Clone the repository** — Clone the IVD repository locally before running the MCP server. Run: `git clone https://github.com/leocelis/ivd.git` (https://github.com/leocelis/ivd.git/)
- **Run the setup script** — From the cloned repository, run the setup script to create the virtual environment and install dependencies. Run: `cd ivd && ./mcp_server/devops/setup.sh`

Optional prerequisites:
- Optional: OpenAI API key for semantic search — Required only if you want to enable ivd_search by generating embeddings locally. Run: `export OPENAI_API_KEY=<your-api-key> && ./mcp_server/devops/embed.sh`

Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):

  - `OPENAI_API_KEY`: OpenAI API key used to generate embeddings and enable ivd_search semantic search. Not required for the default local setup; 27 of 28 tools work without it. (example: `<your-api-key>`)
  - `REDIS_URL`: Redis connection URL for remote server deployment/session storage. (example: `<your-redis-url>`)
  - `IVD_API_KEYS`: API keys configuration for remote server deployment auth. (example: `<your-api-keys>`)

Note: The README's local MCP configuration also includes a cwd pointing at the cloned ivd repository; canonical MCP shape excludes cwd. A hosted remote server is also documented, but the simplest portable install path in the README is the local stdio server. For the hosted option, VS Code/GitHub Copilot uses Streamable HTTP at /mcp with Authorization and Accept headers; Cursor/Claude Desktop use SSE at /sse.

Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders. After adding it, tell me how to verify the server is connected.
