Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Install Node.js 18+** — Node.js version 18 or later is required to run the MCP server via npm/npx. (https://nodejs.org/)
- **Create a BIGHUB API credential** — Set up authentication for the server. One of BIGHUB_API_KEY or BIGHUB_BEARER_TOKEN is required. Management tools require BIGHUB_BEARER_TOKEN. (https://bighub.io/)

- `BIGHUB_BEARER_TOKEN`: Alternative bearer token authentication. One of BIGHUB_API_KEY or BIGHUB_BEARER_TOKEN is required. Required for management tools such as API keys, webhooks, and auth. (example: `<your-bearer-token>`)
- `BIGHUB_BASE_URL`: BIGHUB API base URL. Defaults to the hosted BIGHUB API. (example: `<your-bighub-base-url>`)
- `BIGHUB_TIMEOUT_MS`: Request timeout in milliseconds. (example: `<timeout-ms>`)
- `BIGHUB_MAX_RETRIES`: Number of retries on transient failures. (example: `<max-retries>`)
- `BIGHUB_ALLOW_INSECURE_HTTP`: Allow insecure HTTP for local or private testing. (example: `<true-or-false>`)
Note: Prefer the portable npx launch path from the README. The README also shows local development via cloning the repo, but that is not the simplest install path. Default auth can use either BIGHUB_API_KEY or BIGHUB_BEARER_TOKEN; at least one must be supplied. The server runs in stdio mode.
