MCP server that lets MCP-compatible clients manage Microsoft To Do tasks, lists, checklist items, linked resources, and task metadata through Microsoft Graph. It supports sign-in with any Microsoft account via device code flow and does not require Azure setup.
From the registry: MCP server for Microsoft To Do via Microsoft Graph. MSAL device code flow, no client secret needed.
$ npx -y @mag-cie/mcp-microsoft-todo@latest --authPlease install the `mcp-microsoft-todo` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Install Node.js 20+** — Node.js version 20 or later is required to run the MCP server via npx. (https://nodejs.org/)
- **Have a Microsoft account** — A Microsoft account is required to authenticate with Microsoft To Do. Personal and business Microsoft accounts are supported.
Optional prerequisites:
- Authenticate once via device code flow — Recommended first-run setup: launch the package with --auth in a terminal so you can complete Microsoft device-code sign-in and cache the token locally for future MCP use. Run: `npx -y @mag-cie/mcp-microsoft-todo@latest --auth`
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `npx`
- args: ["-y","@mag-cie/mcp-microsoft-todo"]
- optional environment variables:
- `MS_TENANT`: Microsoft tenant/account type to use during authentication. Set to consumers for personal Microsoft accounts such as outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com, msn.com, or Office 365 personal; otherwise omit for default behavior. (example: `consumers`)
- `MCP_LOCALE`: Optional locale for compact server-returned strings. Supported values documented are en, fr, es, and de. (example: `fr`)
Note: The server uses stdio. The official npm package includes the client ID, so no Azure setup or MS_CLIENT_ID is needed for normal end-user installation. MS_CLIENT_ID appears only for developer forks/local builds and is not part of the preferred install path. Authentication tokens are cached locally in ~/.mcp-microsoft-todo/token-cache.json.
Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders. After adding it, tell me how to verify the server is connected.MS_TENANTrequiredSet to consumers for personal Microsoft accounts; used for Microsoft sign-in tenant selectionAtlassian Rovo MCP Server
