Install & configure
Prerequisites

Please install the `mcp-server-excel` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Windows with Excel 2016+** — Uses Excel COM API; requires Windows and installed Microsoft Excel
- **Download mcp-excel.exe** — Get mcp-excel.exe from GitHub releases and add to PATH (https://github.com/sbroenne/mcp-server-excel/releases/latest)
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):

Note: Windows-only. .NET 10. Close Excel files before use.
