Meridian is an MCP server that provides persistent shared memory for AI coding sessions, including task logs, pinned decisions, human-in-the-loop queues, and resumable handoffs. It can run locally or be used through a hosted endpoint and is intended to connect with MCP clients like Claude Code, Cursor, and Claude Desktop.
From the registry: Persistent memory, task coordination, and HITL queue for AI coding sessions.
Please install the `meridian` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Download and run the Meridian binary** — Download the single-file Meridian binary for your platform and run it. The local dashboard opens automatically and the MCP endpoint is served locally. Data is stored in ~/.meridian/meridian.db by default. (https://github.com/meridianmcp/Meridian/releases/latest/download/meridian.exe | https://github.com/meridianmcp/Meridian/releases/latest/download/meridian-mac-arm64 | https://github.com/meridianmcp/Meridian/releases/latest/download/meridian-mac-x86.2Fsettings) and generate an API key for hosted MCP access.)
Canonical MCP server config (HTTP transport):
- url: `https://usemeridian.us/mcp`
- headers:
- `Authorization`: `Bearer <your-meridian-api-key>`
Note: Meridian supports two install modes. Preferred local/self-host path is the downloaded binary, which serves MCP over HTTP locally (default port 7700; local MCP bridge URL is typically http://localhost:7700/mcp). The hosted service also exposes HTTP MCP at https://usemeridian.us/mcp with a Bearer API key. README also shows a source-based stdio configuration using `pixi run python -m meridian --mcp`, but the binary path is simpler and more portable, so it is preferred.
Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders. After adding it, tell me how to verify the server is connected.MERIDIAN_DB_URLrequiredPostgres connection URL used instead of the default local SQLite database.AI orchestration with hive-mind swarms, neural networks, and 87 MCP tools for enterprise dev.
Persistent codebase knowledge graph. Survives session restarts and context compaction.
A powerful toolkit for coding, providing semantic retrieval and editing capabilities.
