An unofficial Python library and local MCP server that scrapes MyFigureCollection.net public HTML and exposes figure, collection, shop, list, profile, and club data. It lets agents query MFC without an official API by running locally on the user's machine.
From the registry: Read MyFigureCollection.net: search figures, JAN barcode lookup, shop prices, collections and clubs.
Please install the `myfigurecollection-api` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Install uv** — Install uv so you can run the MCP server via uvx, which fetches the package from PyPI on first run. (https://docs.astral.sh/uv/)
- **Python 3.10+** — Python 3.10 or newer is required by the package. This is especially relevant if you choose the fallback path of running the installed mfc-api script directly instead of uvx.
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `uvx`
- args: ["myfigurecollection-api"]
- optional environment variables:
- `MFC_API_RATE_LIMIT`: Seconds between requests. (example: `<seconds>`)
- `MFC_API_CACHE_TTL`: Cache lifetime in seconds; 0 disables caching. (example: `<seconds>`)
- `MFC_API_CACHE_DIR`: Directory where cached pages are stored. (example: `<your-cache-directory>`)
- `MFC_API_LOG_LEVEL`: Server log level; logs go to stderr. (example: `<log-level>`)
Note: The README's preferred MCP setup uses stdio via `uvx myfigurecollection-api`. As a fallback, if uv is unavailable, you can run the installed `mfc-api` script directly by absolute path because MCP clients may not include your Python scripts directory on PATH.
Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders.
