MCP server for generating and editing images through Polza using Google Nano Banana image models, with support for image references, model selection, polling, and saving results locally. It returns MCP image content blocks plus structured JSON metadata for reproducibility.
From the registry: Nano Banana MCP server backed by Polza media and storage APIs.
$ brew install uvPlease install the `nanobanana-2-polzaia-mcp-server` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Install uv** — Install the uv Python package runner, which is used to launch the MCP server via uvx. Run: `brew install uv`
- **Install Python 3.11+** — Python 3.11 or newer is required to run the server.
- **Get a Polza API key** — Create or obtain a Polza API access token for the POLZA_AI_API_KEY environment variable.
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `uvx`
- args: ["nanobanana-2-polzaia-mcp-server@latest"]
- required environment variables:
- `POLZA_AI_API_KEY`: Polza API access token. (example: `<your-polza-api-key>`)
- optional environment variables:
- `POLZA_BASE_URL`: Base URL for the Polza API. Defaults to the Polza API base URL. (example: `<your-polza-base-url>`)
- `IMAGE_OUTPUT_DIR`: Directory where generated or fetched image files are saved. Defaults to a nanobanana-images directory in the user's home directory. (example: `<your-output-directory>`)
- `POLZA_POLL_INTERVAL_SECONDS`: Polling interval in seconds when waiting for generation status. (example: `<poll-interval-seconds>`)
- `POLZA_POLL_TIMEOUT_SECONDS`: Timeout in seconds to wait for generation completion. (example: `<poll-timeout-seconds>`)
- `POLZA_EXTERNAL_USER_ID`: External user identifier passed to Polza as the user field for anti-fraud purposes. (example: `<your-external-user-id>`)
- `RETURN_FULL_IMAGE`: If set, return the full image in the MCP response instead of a thumbnail. (example: `<true-or-false>`)
- `NANOBANANA_MODEL`: Default model tier to use. Supported values are auto, nb2, pro, and flash. (example: `<auto-or-nb2-or-pro-or-flash>`)
Note: README recommends the PyPI/uvx install path over running from source. The server uses stdio transport.
Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders. After adding it, tell me how to verify the server is connected.POLZA_AI_API_KEYrequiredPolza API access token.Make 3D games in Unity Engine with AI.
