Nominatim Mcp Server

Please install the `nominatim-mcp-server` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).

Optional prerequisites:
- Install Node.js or Bun — Install Bun v1.3.0+ or Node.js 24.0.0+ to run the server. The simplest portable path in the README uses npx, so Node.js is sufficient. (https://bun.sh/)

Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):

  - `MCP_TRANSPORT_TYPE`: Transport type for the server. Use `stdio` for MCP client stdio connections. (example: `stdio`)
- optional environment variables:
  - `MCP_LOG_LEVEL`: Log level for server output. (example: `info`)
  - `OSM_NOMINATIM_BASE_URL`: Override the Nominatim API base URL for a private or mirror instance. (example: `<your-nominatim-base-url>`)
  - `OSM_OVERPASS_BASE_URL`: Override the Overpass API endpoint URL for a mirror or private instance. (example: `<your-overpass-base-url>`)
  - `OSM_USER_AGENT`: User-Agent sent to Nominatim and Overpass. The README notes this is required by usage policy, but the server provides a default value. (example: `<your-user-agent>`)
  - `MCP_AUTH_MODE`: Authentication mode: `none`, `jwt`, or `oauth`. (example: `none`)
  - `MCP_GC_PRESSURE_INTERVAL_MS`: Opt-in Bun-only forced-GC pressure loop interval in milliseconds. (example: `<gc-interval-ms>`)
  - `STORAGE_PROVIDER_TYPE`: Storage backend type: `in-memory`, `filesystem`, `supabase`, or Cloudflare storage options. (example: `in-memory`)
  - `OTEL_ENABLED`: Enable OpenTelemetry tracing. (example: `false`)

Note: The README also documents Streamable HTTP support and a public hosted server at <https://openstreetmap.caseyjhand.com/mcp>, but it does not provide a canonical MCP client HTTP config snippet with headers. For local self-hosted HTTP, the server is started with environment variables such as `MCP_TRANSPORT_TYPE=http` and `MCP_HTTP_PORT`, and listens on the configured `/mcp` endpoint path.

Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders. After adding it, tell me how to verify the server is connected.
