From the registry: MCP server for Node-RED — safe deploy, optimistic locking, smart search, 13 tools
$ uv tool install nr-mcpPlease install the `nr-mcp` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Python 3.11+** — nr-mcp is a Python MCP server.
- **Node-RED instance** — A running Node-RED instance with the Admin API enabled. (https://nodered.org/docs/api/admin/)
- **Install nr-mcp** — Install via uv (recommended) or pip. Run: `uv tool install nr-mcp`
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `nr-mcp`
- args: []
- required environment variables:
- `NR_URL`: Node-RED URL. (example: `http://localhost:1880`)
- optional environment variables:
- `NR_TOKEN`: Bearer token for token-based auth. Use this OR basic auth. (example: `<your-access-token>`)

Note: Auth order: token -> basic -> none. At least one auth method is recommended for production Node-RED.
Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders. After adding it, tell me how to verify the server is connected.NR_URLNode-RED URL (default: http://localhost:1880)NR_TOKENBearer token for token-based authNR_USERUsername for Basic AuthNR_PASSPassword for Basic AuthReal-time infrastructure monitoring with metrics, logs, alerts, and ML-based anomaly detection.
Persistent codebase knowledge graph. Survives session restarts and context compaction.
