MCP server for the OpenFIGI API that maps financial identifiers such as ISIN, CUSIP, SEDOL, tickers, and Bloomberg IDs to FIGIs. It can auto-detect identifier types from text or CSV, batch multiple lookups, and expose reference data like exchange codes and security types.
From the registry: OpenFIGI — Bloomberg open financial-instrument symbology service
Please install the `openfigi` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Install Node.js and npm** — Node.js with npm is required to run the server via npx. (https://nodejs.org/)
- **Get an OpenFIGI API key** — Create an OpenFIGI API key for higher rate limits. The README marks it as optional, but it is the documented/default configuration and recommended for practical use. (https://www.openfigi.com/api)
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `npx`
- args: ["openfigi-mcp@latest"]
- required environment variables:
- `OPENFIGI_API_KEY`: Your OpenFIGI API key for accessing the OpenFIGI API. (example: `<your-openfigi-api-key>`)
Note: Preferred install path is the npx-based stdio server. A global npm installation is also documented, but npx is the simplest portable option. The README says OPENFIGI_API_KEY is optional, though recommended; it was marked required here following the practical-default rule because the documented configuration includes it and it is needed for normal authenticated usage.
Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders. After adding it, tell me how to verify the server is connected.OPENFIGI_API_KEYOpenFIGI API key used to increase rate limits and access the API.Meta Ads MCP (Facebook + Instagram) - analyze performance, manage budgets, pause campaigns.
