An MCP server that wraps the PlanWire public API to provide UK planning application data to MCP clients. It lets assistants search applications, fetch a specific application, find applications near a location, and list supported councils.
From the registry: UK planning application data for AI agents: search, geo-query and fetch applications.
Please install the `planwire-mcp` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Install Node.js 18+** — Node.js version 18 or higher is required to run the MCP server with npx. (https://nodejs.org/)
- **Get a PlanWire API key** — Create a PlanWire API key for the server to authenticate API requests. A free sandbox key is available for testing. (https://planwire.io/?utm_source=npm&utm_medium=mcp_readme&utm_campaign=mcp)
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `npx`
- args: ["-y","planwire-mcp"]
- required environment variables:
- `PLANWIRE_API_KEY`: PlanWire API key used to authenticate requests to the PlanWire API. (example: `<your-planwire-api-key>`)
- optional environment variables:
- `PLANWIRE_API_BASE`: Override the default PlanWire API base URL. (example: `<your-planwire-api-base-url>`)
Note: The README states this server uses stdio transport and is intended to be run locally via npx. PLANWIRE_API_BASE is optional; if unset, the server uses PlanWire's default API endpoint.
Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders. After adding it, tell me how to verify the server is connected.PLANWIRE_API_KEYrequiredAPI key used to authenticate requests to PlanWire.MCP server for searching Airweave collections with natural language queries.
