Python library and MCP server for Polymarket CLOB V2 market data and order execution. It supports local signing, exchange-confirmed fills, paper trading, and optional live trading under explicit environment-variable rails.
From the registry: Production-proven Polymarket CLOB V2 trading and data. Fail-closed fills; keys stay local.
$ pip install "pmquant[mcp]"https://pypi.org/project/pmquant/Please install the `pmq` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Install Python package with MCP extras** — Install the MCP server from PyPI. Python 3.10 or newer is required. Run: `pip install "pmquant[mcp]"` (https://pypi.org/project/pmquant/)
Optional prerequisites:
- Optional: Polymarket trading credentials for live trading — Only needed if you want account/trading tools against the live exchange. Read-only market data works without keys; paper trading also works without keys.
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `pmq-mcp`
- args: []
- optional environment variables:
- `PMQ_MCP_PAPER`: Enable paper mode. Registers trading/account tools without keys and simulates fills against real live order books. If set, it takes precedence over PMQ_MCP_LIVE. (example: `1`)
- `PMQ_MCP_PAPER_USD`: Starting paper USD balance when PMQ_MCP_PAPER=1. (example: `<paper-starting-usd>`)
- `PMQ_MCP_LIVE`: Enable live trading tools. If unset, the server is read-only and trading tools are not registered. (example: `1`)
- `PMQ_MCP_MAX_USD`: Hard cap per single order in both live and paper modes. (example: `<max-usd-per-order>`)
- `PMQ_MCP_DAILY_USD`: Cumulative buy budget per UTC day. (example: `<daily-usd-budget>`)
- `POLY_PRIVATE_KEY`: Polymarket private key for live trading/account access. Required in practice for live trading mode. (example: `<your-private-key>`)
- `POLY_FUNDER`: Polymarket funder wallet address for live trading/account access. Required in practice for live trading mode. (example: `<your-funder-wallet-address>`)
- `POLY_SIG_TYPE`: Polymarket signature type. Required in practice for live trading/account access. Commonly 3 for the Polymarket app deposit wallet (POLY_1271). (example: `<your-signature-type>`)
- `POLY_ORDER_LOG`: Optional order attribution registry file for this bot/process when sharing a wallet across multiple bots. (example: `<path-to-order-log>`)
- `POLY_FOREIGN_ORDER_LOGS`: Optional colon-separated list of other bots' order log files for shared-wallet trade attribution. (example: `<path-to-other-order-log>:<path-to-another-order-log>`)
Note: Simplest portable launch is the PyPI-installed executable `pmq-mcp`. For a read-only server, no POLY_* variables are needed. For keyless simulated trading, set PMQ_MCP_PAPER=1. For live trading, enable PMQ_MCP_LIVE=1 and provide POLY_PRIVATE_KEY, POLY_FUNDER, and POLY_SIG_TYPE.
