An MCP server that exposes PoetryDB classic poetry data for searching and browsing by author, title, lines, line count, and poem form. It runs over stdio and uses the PoetryDB API as its data source.
From the registry: PoetryDB MCP.
Please install the `poetrydb` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Install Node.js** — Node.js 18 or later is required to run the MCP server via npm or npx. (https://nodejs.org/)
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `npx`
- args: ["-y","mcp-poetry"]
- optional environment variables:
- `POETRYDB_BASE_URL`: Override the PoetryDB API base URL. (example: `<your-poetrydb-base-url>`)
- `POETRYDB_REQUEST_TIMEOUT_MS`: Request timeout in milliseconds for PoetryDB API calls. (example: `<your-timeout-ms>`)
- `POETRYDB_REQUEST_RETRIES`: Number of retry attempts for PoetryDB API requests. (example: `<your-retry-count>`)
Note: No API key or authentication is required. The README also shows a local source/run option, but the portable recommended config is the npx package path.
Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders. After adding it, tell me how to verify the server is connected.POETRYDB_BASE_URLBase URL for the PoetryDB APIPOETRYDB_REQUEST_TIMEOUT_MSRequest timeout in milliseconds for PoetryDB API callsPOETRYDB_REQUEST_RETRIESNumber of retries for PoetryDB API requestsMCP server for searching Airweave collections with natural language queries.
