Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **ServiceNow instance** — ServiceNow instance URL and credentials. Free PDI available at developer.servicenow.com (https://developer.servicenow.com)
- **Node.js 20+** — Required runtime

Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `node`
- args: ["<path-to-servicenow-mcp>/dist/server.js"]
- required environment variables:
  - `SERVICENOW_INSTANCE_URL`: ServiceNow instance URL (example: `https://yourinstance.service-now.com`)
  - `SERVICENOW_AUTH_METHOD`: Authentication method: basic or oauth (example: `basic`)
- optional environment variables:
  - `SERVICENOW_BASIC_USERNAME`: ServiceNow username (required if auth_method=basic) (example: `admin`)
  - `SERVICENOW_BASIC_PASSWORD`: ServiceNow password (required if auth_method=basic) (example: `<your-password>`)

Note: Same as servicenow-mcp (duplicate slug pointing to same repo: aartiq/servicenow-mcp). 400+ tools, 31+ ServiceNow modules. Clone and build required.
