Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **ServiceNow instance** — ServiceNow instance URL and credentials. Free PDI at developer.servicenow.com (https://developer.servicenow.com)
- **Node.js 18+** — Required runtime
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):

- required environment variables:
- `SERVICENOW_INSTANCE_URL`: ServiceNow instance URL (example: `https://your-instance.service-now.com`)
- `SERVICENOW_USERNAME`: ServiceNow username (example: `admin`)
- `SERVICENOW_PASSWORD`: ServiceNow password (example: `<your-password>`)
- optional environment variables:
- `SERVICENOW_AUTH_TYPE`: Authentication type (default: basic) (example: `basic`)
