Job Description

Role

Lead development of core analytical components for Splunk Observability Cloud, including streaming anomaly detection, predictive intelligence, and automated root-cause analysis. Drive the adoption of Generative and Agentic AI to enable AI features in the observability platform and ensure systems are trustworthy and resilient in cloud-native and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and evolve Agentic platforms and machine learning algorithms for anomaly detection and prediction.
  • Apply Generative AI and Agentic AI techniques to enable product AI features and production capabilities.
  • Collaborate across engineering and product teams to establish frameworks for evaluating AI system trustworthiness and resilience.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship; establish best practices for development, testing, and artifact management.
  • Own end-to-end feature delivery and architecture for scalable cloud-based systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field with 10+ years of software engineering experience, or bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of experience.
  • Experience designing and building scalable cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Proven experience in technical leadership, architecture design, and end-to-end feature ownership in AI/ML or platform domains.
  • Experience with API design and frameworks (OpenAPI, GraphQL, gRPC, REST).
  • Prior experience delivering RAG and Agentic products into production.
  • Expert-level experience with vibe coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, Windsurf, Cursor) is required.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Agentic and Generative AI trends and frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex requirements.
  • Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining applications in AWS with cloud-native solutions.
  • Experience monitoring and analyzing metrics, traces, spans, and log content.
  • Background in observability, generative AI, or model robustness.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Posted starting salary range for U.S. and/or Canada locations: $210,600.00 to $305,100.00.
  • Additional location-specific ranges listed for certain U.S. areas (e.g., NYC Metro $210,600.00–$350,800.00; Non-Metro NY & WA $189,300.00–$312,200.00).
