Uses AI assistants and LLMs (Copilot, ChatGPT) and emphasizes AI-assisted development and prompt engineering to speed up test generation and coding—very vibe-coding friendly.
About the Role
Senior AI-enabled Playwright Automation Engineer responsible for designing and building scalable Playwright-based automation frameworks and AI-driven QA agents that integrate LLMs and agentic AI to accelerate test generation, execution, and failure analysis.
Job Description
Role
We are hiring an AI-enabled Playwright Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks and AI-assisted QA tooling. The role focuses on integrating LLMs and agentic AI into testing workflows to accelerate test-case generation, improve stability through self-healing techniques, and increase QA productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript, BDD, and Page Object Model.
- Build reusable automation utilities for browser handling, test data, API integration, screenshots, logging, reporting, and CI/CD execution.
- Integrate LLMs and Agentic AI workflows for test case generation, script creation, locator analysis, execution support, and failure analysis.
- Work with Playwright MCP to enable AI agents to interact with browser sessions, inspect DOM structure, and generate automation flows.
- Create custom QA agents for scenario generation, locator identification, script generation, defect analysis, and regression impact analysis.
- Apply prompt engineering techniques to produce reliable test cases, BDD scenarios, automation scripts, and reusable functions.
- Analyze automation failures using screenshots, traces, logs, failed locators, HAR files, and execution context; implement fixes to improve stability.
- Integrate Playwright suites with CI/CD pipelines for smoke, regression, and release validation.
- Collaborate with QA leads, developers, business analysts, and product teams to improve automation coverage and testing efficiency.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript; familiarity with Java is a plus.
- Experience designing automation frameworks using Page Object Model, BDD, reusable utilities, and data-driven testing.
- Solid understanding of web automation concepts: locators, waits, assertions, browser contexts, traces, screenshots, and reporting.
- Experience with API testing using Playwright API, Postman, or Rest Assured.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Good understanding of Git, branching, pull requests, and code review practices.
- Ability to debug automation failures and improve script stability.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted testing.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with Agentic AI for QA and Playwright MCP.
- Experience building AI-driven QA tools, self-healing automation, or autonomous test execution workflows.
- Experience with Docker, AWS, cloud execution, or containerized test environments.
- Experience in performance testing, accessibility testing, or visual testing.
- Exposure to test management tools such as Jira, Zephyr, Xray, TestRail, or Rally.
