Role
AI Application Development Engineer (Intern-Friendly / Junior / Senior). Use AI coding tools to convert product requirements into working pages, components, forms, workflows, and integrations across three AI-native products: TrueSourceEdu, TopoGrow, and Di-Edu. Participate in the full implementation loop from PM-defined tasks to tested, reviewable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement pages, components, forms, workflows, and interactions from PM-assigned tasks.
- Use Codex and other AI coding tools to explore solutions and accelerate implementation while validating and testing all AI-generated code.
- Translate product notes, user flows, prototypes, and diagrams into working features and responsive web pages.
- Build and maintain internal tools, dashboards, administrative interfaces, and user workflows connected to test data or services.
- Connect APIs, databases, authentication, file handling, search, AI services, and notifications as required.
- Read, modify, debug, and validate AI-generated code; produce reproducible issue reports and evidence of fixes.
- Record changes, testing steps, outstanding uncertainties, and decisions needed from the PM.
Requirements
- Internship applicants: currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Engineering, or related field (professional work experience not required).
- Comfortable reading and modifying HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or comparable code.
- Able to complete basic API calls, data access, user interactions, and error handling.
- Basic understanding of Git, APIs, databases, debugging, and software delivery.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools or Vibe Coding in coursework, personal projects, internships, hackathons, or take-home work.
- Ability to work in an early-stage environment, follow PM-defined scopes, and report blockers and ambiguity promptly.
- Must verify and test AI-generated output before delivery; do not submit unverified AI output.
Preferred / Bonus
- Public or shareable projects, course projects, hackathon projects, or working prototypes.
- Experience with AI agents, RAG, knowledge bases, automation, or AI workflows.
- Exposure to both frontend and backend work, databases, deployment, or data products.
- Use of Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, Trae, Copilot, or comparable tools.
- Clear documentation of prompts, inspections, tests, and corrections applied to AI output.
Deliverables
- Working pages and product features connected to test data or services.
- Operable user workflows with test evidence.
- AI-assisted code that has been manually reviewed and tested.
- Concise change log and usage note.
- Reproducible issue reports and evidence of fixes.
Compensation & Location
- Pay: From $25.00 per hour (minimum $25/hour stated in posting).
- Work location: Hybrid remote in Markham, ON (postal code L3R 2W4).
