AI Data Apps Lead

Role

Sonova is hiring an AI Data Apps Lead to own the technical architecture, cloud deployment, and lifecycle of a growing suite of AI-powered data applications. The role emphasizes AI-assisted development (“vibe coding”) to accelerate prototyping and delivery and includes guiding non-AI-native teams on modern AI workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and design the technical architecture, deployment, and lifecycle of AI-built data applications
• Use AI-assisted development (vibe coding) and AI coding assistants to accelerate prototyping and delivery
• Architect and manage cloud-based data infrastructure (Azure, Databricks, etc.)
• Oversee code management practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies
• Ensure data platform scalability, reliability, and security
• Guide and upskill internal teams unfamiliar with AI tools

Requirements

• 7+ years in data engineering, data platforms, or application development
• Experience with vibe coding and AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.)
• Knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, and rapid AI prototyping
• Strong React development experience
• Familiarity with backend development and API integrations
• Experience in a technical leadership or mentorship role
• Hands-on experience delivering applications from concept to production
• Portfolio of AI-built or AI-enhanced projects (including personal projects)
