Role
Hunter Douglas is seeking an AI Data Scientist to advance the company’s digital and data-driven transformation by leveraging machine learning, AI, and advanced analytics to optimize operations, forecasting, inventory, and customer experiences across the global business.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy advanced AI/ML models and algorithms to improve operational efficiency, forecasting accuracy, and decision intelligence across the supply chain.
- Conduct data exploration, feature engineering, model tuning, and performance monitoring; retrain and optimize models post-deployment.
- Apply methods including neural networks, reinforcement learning, NLP, and generative AI to business problems.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate challenges into data-driven solutions and communicate insights via visualizations and storytelling.
- Work with data engineers and IT to ensure scalable data pipelines, infrastructure, and model deployment.
- Contribute to AI strategy and roadmaps; partner with vendors, consultants, and internal teams to implement and scale solutions.
- Experiment with AI coding assistants (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex) and support creation of custom AI copilots and prompt libraries for digital supply chain tools.
- Prototype intelligent process automation for planning, logistics, quality, and operational workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or related).
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML model development, deployment, and performance optimization in business or industrial contexts.
- Strong proficiency in Python, R, or SQL for data science and model development.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with predictive modeling, optimization, and time-series forecasting, ideally in supply chain, operations, or commercial analytics.
- Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) and version control (Git).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, collaboration, and communication skills.
Preferred
- Master’s in Data Science or related quantitative discipline.
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or consumer goods industries.
- Knowledge of IoT analytics, predictive maintenance, or computer vision for industrial applications.
- Experience with ERP and supply chain systems (SAP, Kinaxis, Oracle).
- Familiarity with large-scale AI deployment pipelines and automation.
Travel
- Up to 20% travel may be required for project collaboration and site visits.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary range: $95,000 - $125,000.
- Bonus target range: 20% - 25%.
