Explicitly calls out vibe coding and AI-assisted development; focused on building with LLMs, agentic systems and tools like Copilot and Cursor.
About the Role
BCN is hiring an AI Developer to design, build and deploy AI-integrated solutions that combine LLMs, agentic systems and Azure AI services for clients while also developing internal AI tools and enabling AI-assisted practices. The role is hybrid (Reading preferred; Manchester or Leeds also possible) and split roughly 50/50 between client delivery and internal development/enablement.
Job Description
Role
BCN is looking for a hands-on AI Developer to join a small, agile team building production AI solutions that integrate large language models, agentic systems and Azure AI services. The role combines client delivery with internal development and capability-building, focusing on building working software and practical AI tooling rather than research-only work.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy AI-integrated solutions for client engagements using modern full-stack technologies.
- Integrate Azure AI services (Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, Azure ML, AI Search) into production applications.
- Build and refine LLM-powered features, agentic workflows, and MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations.
- Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and deliver working software.
- Contribute to technical research, prototyping, and proofs of concept to support client proposals.
- Develop internal AI tools, accelerators, and reusable components.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and support adoption of AI-assisted development practices (vibe coding, AI testing, agentic development).
- Participate in knowledge sharing, training, and capability building within the AI and Data Innovation team.
Requirements
- Solid full stack development experience in one or more of: React, Node.js, .NET/C#, Python/FastAPI.
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
- Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to code quality and engineering rigor.
- Able to learn new technologies quickly and apply them practically.
- Comfortable working independently and within a small collaborative team.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with LLM integration, prompt engineering or agentic AI development.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, and Cursor.
- Azure AI Engineer certification or equivalent practical experience.
- Understanding of MCP, RAG architectures, or vector databases.
Location & Hours
- Preference for Reading, with Manchester or Leeds also considered. Hybrid working available.
- Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Benefits
- Access to BCN Academy training and development.
- Competitive salary with progression opportunities.
- 23 days holiday (increasing with length of service), plus bank holidays and an extra day off on your birthday; option to buy additional leave.
- Company pension scheme.
- 2 paid volunteer days per year.
- Health cash plan and confidential Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
- Life assurance, cycle to work scheme, electric vehicle scheme, home & tech scheme, and retail discounts.
- Free on-site gym at Manchester and Leeds locations.
- Long service recognition, Beer/Pizza Fridays, dress-down every day and social events.
