Role
AI Education Consultant (Independent Contractor) — Part-time (10–20 hrs/week) remote consulting role focused on K-12 AI strategy and innovation. The consultant will assess school readiness, design AI-integrated curricula and learning experiences, create prompts and agents for instructional/operational use, and lead professional learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct AI audits assessing readiness across operations, teaching, and learning
- Develop AI integration strategies aligned to curriculum, teacher readiness, and student outcomes
- Design engaging, standards-aligned AI-driven instructional materials and professional learning content
- Create and refine AI prompts, agents, and workflows for instructional and operational use
- Lead professional development on AI tools, ethics, and best practices
- Advise districts and schools on AI policy and responsible use in K-12 settings
- Monitor emerging AI trends and tools relevant to education
Requirements
- US-based with strong English communication skills
- 5+ years experience in K-12 education (examples: teacher, instructional coach, tech coordinator, district leader)
- Proven experience with AI tools, including prompt engineering, agent development, and workflow automation
- Strong instructional design skills and ability to create engaging, standards-aligned learning experiences
- Deep understanding of digital literacy, media fluency, and computer science in school settings
- Ability to connect instructional goals with AI solutions and work independently as a consultant
- Experience creating “vibe-coded” strategies to inspire adoption
Nice to Have
- Experience with strategic edtech planning and school transformation projects
- Familiarity with ISTE standards and project-based learning
- Background in school tech audits, digital citizenship, ethics, and AI safety
