Role
Equifax is hiring an AI Engineer to lead the technical vision and execution of cloud-native, agentic AI solutions. The role centers on architecting, building, and operating AI agents and production-grade AI systems on Google Cloud, guiding a cross-functional team, and adopting AI-assisted development practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy complex AI agents using LangChain and LangGraph.
- Lead prompt and context engineering to optimize agent performance.
- Research, prototype, and integrate foundational models, RAG techniques, and agentic frameworks.
- Architect and operate production-scale AI systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Vertex AI.
- Implement MLOps and establish reliability, versioning, monitoring, and observability practices (e.g., Langfuse).
- Use AI code-assist tools (Gemini, GitHub Copilot, Claude) to accelerate development, documentation, testing, and monitoring.
- Build, manage, and mentor software, quality, and reliability engineers.
- Define and report on engineering metrics (SLA, SLO, SLI) and ensure DevSecOps and FinOps best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, SREs, and business partners on technical strategy and roadmaps.
- Lead troubleshooting and incident response; participate in agile ceremonies.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and deliver technical presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years in software engineering with proven technical leadership and delivery of scalable systems.
- Hands-on AI/ML experience including model integration and MLOps.
- Direct experience with LangChain, LangGraph or similar agentic AI frameworks.
- Experience building and deploying AI agents to production.
- In-depth experience with Google Cloud Platform, including Vertex AI.
- 3+ years working with Kubernetes workloads.
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Java; working knowledge of a modern front-end framework (Angular, React, or Vue).
- Experience with LLM observability tools like Langfuse.
- Cloud-native skills: Docker, Kubernetes, IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation), CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Jenkins).
- Database experience: Spanned DB, Alloy DB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Firestore.
- Strong problem-solving, mentoring, communication, and metrics-driven mindset.
Preferred / Differentiators
- Strong Generative AI experience with models like Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, or Llama.
- Familiarity with AI-powered developer tools and code assistants.
- Track record of solving ambiguous technical challenges and delivering production-ready software at scale.
