AI Engineer (m/w/d) – Inhouse

Role

You will develop and integrate AI-based features into the company’s MySOMI platform, turning models and AI workflows into production-ready services. The role works cross-functionally with backend and product teams to deliver scalable, maintainable AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI workflows, agents and automations for the MySOMI platform
• Develop and operate backend services and APIs to integrate AI models
• Build and optimize data pipelines, embeddings, retrieval mechanisms and prompt workflows
• Create interfaces to internal systems and external services; work with microservices and REST APIs
• Ensure performance, scalability and maintainability of AI features
• Contribute to architecture and technology decisions
• Use modern vibe-coding approaches and AI developer tools to accelerate development

Requirements

• Multiple years of practical experience building AI/ML-based applications
• Strong backend development knowledge (e.g., Python, Node.js, PHP or comparable technologies)
• Experience with LLMs, AI-APIs or AI frameworks
• Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices and system integrations
• Experience with MySQL or other relational databases
• Understanding of DevOps processes, CI/CD and deployment of modern architectures (desired)
• Structured, independent working style, high technical curiosity and team mindset
• Experience with AI-assisted development / vibe coding is a strong plus
