Role
AI-First Full Stack Engineer responsible for delivering production-ready MERN applications quickly using AI-assisted development. The role combines full‑stack engineering, serverless/AWS microservices architecture, strong testing practices, and the ability to integrate LLM APIs and AI-powered features.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain full-stack applications (React, Node.js, Express, MongoDB) and SQL-backed services.
- Architect scalable microservices and design optimized SQL/NoSQL schemas.
- Implement serverless solutions and deploy with proper monitoring and observability.
- Build and consume REST and GraphQL APIs; implement authentication and authorization.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; follow TDD where appropriate.
- Create CI/CD pipelines and manage infrastructure-as-code for reliable deployments.
- Rapidly prototype UI components and features using AI coding assistants (vibe coding) and iterate from natural language descriptions.
- Integrate LLM APIs and AI features (chatbots, semantic search) and apply retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and vector DBs where useful.
Requirements
- 4+ years full-stack development experience (MERN) and strong proficiency with React and Node.js.
- 3+ years building AWS microservices/serverless systems (Lambda/API Gateway) and experience with event-driven patterns (SQS, SNS, EventBridge).
- 2+ years of applied AI / AI orchestration and experience integrating OpenAI/Anthropic or similar LLM APIs.
- Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
- Proven testing skills: unit tests (Jest/Mocha), integration/E2E (Cypress/Playwright), API testing (Postman/Supertest).
- Familiarity with Docker, container orchestration, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins), and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
- Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate development and prototype rapidly.
- Ability to choose when to rely on AI-generated code vs. manual engineering; deliver production-quality systems at startup speed.
