Role
Databricks is hiring an AI Forward Deployed Engineer (AI FDE) to work on customer-facing engagements that build, deploy, and operationalize GenAI and LLM-based applications. The role partners with customers and internal teams (engineering, product, developer relations) to deliver production-grade solutions and influence product direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop cutting-edge GenAI solutions and incorporate Databricks AI research techniques to solve customer problems.
- Own production rollouts of consumer and internal GenAI applications, including evaluation and optimizations.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers across domains and present at conferences (e.g., Data + AI Summit).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to influence priorities and shape the roadmap.
Requirements
- Experience building GenAI applications and patterns such as RAG, multi-agent systems, Text2SQL, and fine-tuning.
- Hands-on industry experience in data science and machine learning using common tools (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch).
- Experience deploying production-grade ML/GenAI applications and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites approximately once every 4β8 weeks as needed.
Preferred
- Experience using the Databricks Intelligence Platform and Apache Sparkβ’ to process large-scale distributed datasets.
