Role
Salesforce is hiring Senior Forward Deployed Engineers (also hiring at Forward Deployed Engineer level) to design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions directly in enterprise customer environments. You will be the senior technical authority on delivery teams, owning outcomes from architecture decisions through production handoff, mentoring other engineers, and influencing product and engineering roadmaps based on field experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end build and deployment of agentic AI solutions for strategic customers, including architecture, production handoff, and operational health.
- Design and ship agent logic, tool calls, multi-agent orchestration, deterministic guardrails, and enterprise integration patterns on the Agentforce platform.
- Manage the data lifecycle for AI applications: model design, processing pipelines, and data readiness across Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks, and customer platforms.
- Resolve complex technical blockers (data integration, model deployment, orchestration, performance regressions) and provide technical depth on at-risk or critical deployments.
- Build and maintain agent performance dashboards and KPI reporting to track deployment health and business outcomes.
- Rapidly develop proofs-of-concept and MVPs with pragmatic judgment on trade-offs; codify patterns and reusable assets for broader adoption.
- Mentor engineers via code reviews, pairing, and shared codebase work; propagate conventions and patterns across teams.
- Partner with Deployment Strategists to translate customer business challenges into agentic solutions that ship.
- Travel to customer sites when required (approximately 25% travel expected).
Requirements
- Senior: Minimum 6+ years of software engineering or technical delivery experience with proven end-to-end ownership of scalable production systems in enterprise AI, cloud, or SaaS environments. (Forward Deployed Engineer baseline: 3+ years.)
- Degree in Computer Science or related field (stated requirement).
- Strong software engineering skills with expertise in at least one of: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex; conversant in others.
- Production experience integrating LLMs and applying prompt engineering and responsible AI practices; familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
- Deep experience in data modeling, processing, and analytics; demonstrable proficiency with platforms like Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, or Databricks.
- Salesforce platform expertise: Agentforce, Apex, LWC, Flows, and Salesforce APIs.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex integration and deployment issues and to ship production-quality systems.
- Strong communication skills for engaging engineering peers, customer architects, and executive stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel ~25% and work embedded with customer engineers.
