Role
internXL seeks on-site Hackathon Mentors for a short, high-intensity Innovation Challenge in Atlanta (March 20–24). Mentors will work directly with student teams to guide technical decisions, unblock development, and help translate prototypes into pitch-ready presentations.
Key Responsibilities
- Be physically present on the hackathon floor throughout the event and provide hands-on mentorship.
- Debug team codebases, advise on architecture and system design, and help teams overcome technical blockers.
- Provide real-time guidance on prompt and context engineering, agent design, model selection, and rapid prototyping strategies.
- Assist teams in refining pitches and translating technical work into clear value propositions for judges.
- Participate in final presentations and offer expert feedback and evaluation.
- Support team morale and momentum during the sprint.
Technical Breadth (areas of comfort expected)
- Prompt & context engineering: structuring data and prompts for LLMs.
- AI agents and multi-agent workflows.
- Vibe coding and high-velocity prototyping workflows (examples cited: Cursor, Replit, Bolt).
- Fine-tuning models where appropriate and advising on model specialization.
- Rapid prototyping techniques to go from idea to demo quickly.
Who You Are
- A builder-first practitioner with a portfolio of AI projects, shipped prototypes, products, or open-source contributions.
- Comfortable navigating codebases, making architectural decisions, and debugging under pressure.
- Charismatic and engaging with experience coaching or mentoring teams in fast-paced settings.
- Based in or local to the Atlanta metro area and available to be on-site for the full event (March 20–24).
