Explicitly calls out "vibe coding" and fast prototyping, mentioning Cursor, Replit, and Bolt for high-velocity AI development.

About the Role

Serve as an on-site AI Hackathon Mentor in Atlanta (March 20–24) to provide hands-on technical guidance, debugging, and architectural support as student teams build AI-powered prototypes. Mentor teams on prompt engineering, agent design, model selection, rapid prototyping, and pitch refinement during an intensive, short-term engagement paid via a fixed-fee stipend.

Job Description

Role

internXL seeks on-site Hackathon Mentors for a short, high-intensity Innovation Challenge in Atlanta (March 20–24). Mentors will work directly with student teams to guide technical decisions, unblock development, and help translate prototypes into pitch-ready presentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be physically present on the hackathon floor throughout the event and provide hands-on mentorship.
  • Debug team codebases, advise on architecture and system design, and help teams overcome technical blockers.
  • Provide real-time guidance on prompt and context engineering, agent design, model selection, and rapid prototyping strategies.
  • Assist teams in refining pitches and translating technical work into clear value propositions for judges.
  • Participate in final presentations and offer expert feedback and evaluation.
  • Support team morale and momentum during the sprint.

Technical Breadth (areas of comfort expected)

  • Prompt & context engineering: structuring data and prompts for LLMs.
  • AI agents and multi-agent workflows.
  • Vibe coding and high-velocity prototyping workflows (examples cited: Cursor, Replit, Bolt).
  • Fine-tuning models where appropriate and advising on model specialization.
  • Rapid prototyping techniques to go from idea to demo quickly.

Who You Are

  • A builder-first practitioner with a portfolio of AI projects, shipped prototypes, products, or open-source contributions.
  • Comfortable navigating codebases, making architectural decisions, and debugging under pressure.
  • Charismatic and engaging with experience coaching or mentoring teams in fast-paced settings.
  • Based in or local to the Atlanta metro area and available to be on-site for the full event (March 20–24).

Logistics & Compensation

  • Type: Temporary / One-Time Engagement (Contract).
  • Location: In person — Atlanta, GA.
  • Dates: March 20–24, 2026.
  • Compensation: Fixed-fee stipend paid in installments (listed pay: $250.00 per day).

What This Is Not

  • This is a hands-on mentoring and building role, not an academic lecture or long-term teaching position.
