Job Description
Role
As an AI Product Specialist you will serve as an internal R&D lab and strategic advisor, building rapid prototypes of agentic workflows and conversational interfaces, pressure-testing new AI capabilities, and advising the Chief Product Officer on where to invest AI resources. You will balance hands-on coding and experimentation with strategic frameworks that inform product decisions across Nexford.
Key Responsibilities
- Ship rapid AI experiments: build working prototypes and clickable demos of agentic workflows, conversational interfaces, and AI-assisted features in days.
- Develop strategic recommendations for the CPO based on hands-on experimentation.
- Stay current with new models, techniques, and capabilities; evaluate and encourage integration of relevant advances.
- Design agentic experiences and orchestration beyond simple chatbots.
- Bridge technical feasibility and product value; translate complex technical approaches into user-focused features.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Learner Success, Academic Operations, Technology, and Marketing to ensure cohesive learner experiences and successful market introductions.
- Use user research, analytics, and learner feedback for data-driven decision making and iterative improvement.
- Promote continuous improvement by iterating products and services based on feedback and data insights.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2–4 years shipping features and products, with meaningful AI experience.
- Proven ability to prototype quickly and ‘vibe code’ from idea to working code using modern AI assistants and tools.
- Hands-on experience with conversational AI, agents, or developer tools is a bonus.
- Deep curiosity about AI tools and techniques (RAG architectures, prompt engineering, function calling, fine-tuning).
- Strong product taste alongside technical chops: distinguish between demos and useful features.
- Clear communication skills to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Tinkerer mentality: side projects, personal AI stack, and a bias toward experimentation.
