The AIML Operations Engineer will provide operational and governance support to GSK’s Economics, Ethics and Policy organisation, ensuring smooth cross-functional collaboration, process improvement, vendor and partnership management, and oversight of compliance for AIML initiatives. Role

AIML Operations Engineer supporting the Economics, Ethics and Policy organisation. The role reports to the Product Manager and focuses on providing operational support to enable AIML research, governance, and portfolio optimisation workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support operational activities across the organisation to ensure clear ownership, timelines and effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve processes and systems to support the team’s work, identifying gaps and designing practical solutions (including agent-enabled automation where appropriate).
  • Provide structured analysis and operational support to leadership and maintain end-to-end oversight of governance standards for consistency, transparency and compliance.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of external partnerships and vendor relationships, including contract renewals, licensing, CDAs, studentship agreements and related financial processes.
  • Establish and maintain documentation, meeting structures and reporting processes to support transparency and coordination.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activities in coordination with internal teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Professional experience in operations, project management, or a similar coordination role within a complex organisation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical topics into clear, practical actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work across teams/functions, and operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail; experience maintaining governance and compliance processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or advanced degree.
  • Background in a STEM discipline or experience working closely with technical teams.
  • Interest or experience in responsible AI, AI governance, policy topics, fintech, healthcare, life sciences, health data, or technology environments.
  • Familiarity with coding, data analysis or machine learning concepts (mentions of coding agents and vibe coding are a plus).
