Role
The Associate Director, Software & Enterprise Systems leads ERP strategy, enterprise systems modernization, AI enablement, automation strategy, and long-term digital transformation planning to support institutional strategy, operational excellence, and a modern employee experience. The role oversees mission-critical systems (ERP modules for Finance, HR, Student, and Administrative functions), enterprise data governance, vendor relationships, budgets, and compliance with public sector accountability and privacy requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ERP evolution, lifecycle management, governance, module enhancements, integrations, workflow redesign, cloud strategy considerations, and future transformation or replacement initiatives.
- Advance institutional AI enablement: identify and deploy AI-enabled solutions, promote experimentation with AI-assisted development tools and low-code/no-code rapid prototyping, and establish responsible AI governance.
- Establish and mature enterprise data governance, stewardship models, analytics modernization, and reporting integrity across ERP and integrated systems.
- Oversee project and portfolio management for enterprise initiatives including business cases, budgets, risk management, timelines, quality assurance, and benefits realization.
- Represent the college in provincial and sector-wide ERP, AI, and data governance committees; develop shared services, collaborative procurement, and strategic vendor partnerships.
- Recruit, hire, develop, and manage staff (ERP specialists, analysts, programmers, project managers, AI/digital innovation professionals), set performance expectations, and participate in labour relations and grievance procedures.
- Manage operating and capital budgets, procurement processes, SaaS/vendor contracts, and service-level agreements.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as PMP, CBAP, ITIL, or equivalent are assets.
- Experience: Minimum six (6) years of progressive experience in ERP management, enterprise systems leadership, AI enablement, digital transformation, or public sector technology environments, including supervisory experience within a unionized setting.
- Abilities: Strategic and systems-level leadership; deep ERP and enterprise systems expertise; experience leading AI adoption and automation initiatives; strong financial management and vendor negotiation capability; excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills; ability to operate autonomously in a complex public sector environment.
Compensation & Schedule
- Annual salary range: $99,050 to $145,273. Typical hiring range: $118,860 to $132,066.
- Appointment: Exempt, continuing, full-time.
- Desired start date: 04/20/2026.

- Primary location: Kelowna.
- Flexible work options: Eligible for hybrid work; may work at any Okanagan College location.

- Accountable to the CIO for ERP, enterprise systems, and AI governance prioritization; manages significant operating and capital budgets and enterprise SaaS/vendor contracts; develops institutional policies and standards related to ERP, automation, AI usage, and data governance.
