Role
Associate Technologist for the Next Generation Technology & Data Talent Program (NeXT) — a 12-month rotational graduate program based in London starting September 2026. The program provides intensive induction training followed by three four-month rotations across technology disciplines, with the goal of preparing graduates for placement on Fitch technology teams.
Program structure
- 12-month rotational program with three four-month placements across development, QA, SRE/DevOps, database management, ML/GenAI and other technical disciplines.
- Intensive induction training, regular training sessions, and mentor/peer buddy support.
- Hands-on work on real projects from day one and final placement on a technology team upon graduation.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and contribute to analysis, design, development, and testing of software applications using modern frameworks and full-stack/data engineering technologies.
- Collaborate on design, build and testing of scalable, secure data products and APIs.
- Develop software using languages and frameworks such as Python, Java, Springboot, JavaScript and React; apply software engineering principles and design patterns.
- Apply test-driven and behavior-driven development; write and maintain automated test scripts and QA automation.
- Participate in developing and deploying ML & Gen AI solutions and associated workflows where applicable to rotations.
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and application security teams to implement best practices for data loading, LLM workflows, DevOps and DevSecOps.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and user stories in collaboration with Product Owners.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or related field.
- Graduating between December 2025 and June 2026.
- Less than 6 months of full-time software engineering experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of one or more programming languages (examples listed: Python, Java, C#, JavaScript).
- Understanding of software design patterns, ML and cloud computing fundamentals (AWS or similar).
- Hands-on experience with Gen AI-assisted development tools (examples: GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Cody).
- Familiarity with ML algorithms (multi-class classification, decision trees, SVMs, neural networks; deep learning preferred).
