Role
The Biosensors Research Operations Specialist operates at the intersection of hardware/software testing and human-subjects research to validate early-stage biosensor prototypes and execute rigorous user studies focused on advanced health features.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute internal and external user studies, including navigating legal and IRB approval processes.
- Prepare devices and study materials; perform bench-top testing of prototypes to validate sensor functionality prior to human testing.
- Manage participant scheduling, cancellations, and lab availability to maximize study efficiency.
- Coordinate with engineering, legal, clinical, and research teams to secure approvals, ensure compliance, and align expectations.
- Perform data acquisition, maintain repeatable, low-variance data collection processes, and conduct data quality assessments.
- Use AI-driven analysis and coding to summarize progress and produce objective, actionable reports for stakeholders.
Requirements / Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience handling proof-of-concept prototypes for benchtop tests and human-subject studies.
- Experience running human subjects studies using multimodal sensing and reference/ground-truth equipment.
- Technical proficiency in data acquisition, processing, and analysis.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools for coding, documentation, and automation to boost operational efficiency.
- Capable of ‘vibe coding’ (example languages: Python, MATLAB) to handle varied data structures.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Clear, direct communication skills and high agency; able to collaborate with technical stakeholders and guide participants.
