Role
Pulsora is seeking a Climate Analyst to own carbon accounting methodology and the emission factor library for enterprise customers. The role partners directly with sustainability leaders to build GHG inventories, set targets, support disclosure and assurance, and convert regulatory change into product requirements. It is a hands-on position requiring detailed work in activity data, emission factors, standard text, and calculation logic.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead customer engagements on GHG inventory build, assurance, decarbonization planning, and voluntary and regulatory reporting.
- Own emission factor library lifecycle: sourcing, versioning, provenance, retirement, and GWP set management.
- Shape platform capabilities for GHG accounting across Scopes 1–3 and ensure audit-ready data lineage and disclosures.
- Translate regulatory and standards changes (e.g., CSRD, CDP, SBTi) into product requirements and calculation logic.
- Serve as subject matter expert during onboarding, training, and ongoing client support.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams to gather and prioritize requirements.
- Rapidly prototype internal tools and customer-facing solutions using AI-assisted coding tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, business, or related field; advanced masters or MBA preferred.
- Proven track record (5+ years) in climate consulting or sustainability analyst roles with significant carbon accounting experience.
- Deep understanding of the GHG Protocol, ISO 1406X family, and sustainability frameworks and regulations (e.g., CSRD, CDP, SBTi, PCAF, GRI, SASB, TCFD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR).
- Hands-on experience building or auditing full Scope 1–3 inventories under the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and Scope 3 Standard.
- Fluency in emission factor sourcing and application, and managing GWP sets (IPCC AR4/AR5/AR6) and edition transitions.
- Familiarity with assurance and audit practices (e.g., ISAE 3000/3410, AA1000AS) and maintaining data lineage and controls for third-party audits.
- Understanding of decarbonization strategy, SBTi, CDP disclosures, marginal abatement cost curves, and scenario analysis.
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Replit) to build prototypes and internal tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in agile environments and familiarity with product tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Willingness to work with a global team, including flexible hours to collaborate with offshore teams in India.
