Role
As an Applied AI Customer Engineer on Google Cloud you will accelerate customer adoption of Conversational AI and Generative AI by designing resilient, scalable, cloud-native architectures, building rapid proofs-of-concept and demos, and advising customers and sales teams on end-to-end integrations and deployment strategies. You will partner with product and engineering teams, present technical value to executives, and lead technical engagements from proof-of-concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to prospective and existing customers, explaining features and designing cloud-based architectures.
- Provide guidance on integrating AI solutions with enterprise data stacks and third-party systems (e.g., CRM, ticketing, telephony).
- Lead rapid development of POCs and MVPs, troubleshoot technical roadblocks, and recommend integration strategies for end-to-end Google Cloud solutions.
- Collaborate with product management to prioritize solutions that drive adoption and provide product briefings and technology advocacy.
- Present the business value of Applied AI solutions to executive leaders and represent Google Cloud at events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience designing cloud-native, enterprise-grade technical architectures in customer-facing or support roles.
- 1 year of experience with Conversational AI technologies, including designing conversational flows/agents and operating Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech systems.
- Experience building or leveraging AI solutions, ML APIs, prompting, agent tooling, evaluation frameworks, and embedding AI into demos.
- Experience engaging with and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building conversational applications and integrating them with third-party tooling (CRM, ticketing, telephony platforms).
- Experience coding in Java, C++, or Python and familiarity with vibe coding.
- Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), machine learning templates, and document/image AI.
- Understanding of modern development methodologies and application performance tuning.

Compensation & Benefits (selected)
- US base salary range: $174,000 - $258,000 (base only; plus bonus, equity, benefits).
