Role
As an Applied AI Customer Engineer at Google Cloud you will provide technical expertise in Conversational AI and customer experience, partnering with Sales and product teams to design resilient, scalable AI solutions. You will act as a subject-matter expert on Generative AI, lead architecture and integration efforts, and accelerate customer adoption through demos, PoCs, and executive briefings.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor for prospective and existing customers, explaining technical features and designing cloud-based architectures.
- Provide guidance on integrating AI solutions with enterprise data stacks and third-party systems (e.g., CRM, ticketing, telephony).
- Lead rapid development of Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) that demonstrate Google Cloud solutions.
- Troubleshoot technical roadblocks and recommend end-to-end integration strategies.
- Collaborate with product management and engineering to prioritize features that drive adoption and provide product briefings and technology advocacy.
- Present business value of Applied AI solutions to executive leaders and represent Google Cloud externally.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience designing cloud-native, enterprise-grade technical architectures in customer-facing or support roles.
- At least 1 year of experience with Conversational AI technologies, including designing conversational flows/agents and operating STT/TTS systems.
- Experience building or leveraging AI solutions, ML APIs, prompting, agent tooling, evaluation frameworks, and modern AI frameworks, and embedding them into demos.
- Experience engaging with and presenting to both technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience building conversational applications and integrating them with third-party tooling (CRM, ticketing, telephony platforms).
- Coding experience in Java, C++, or Python and stated expertise in vibe coding.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), machine learning templates, and document/image AI.
- Understanding of modern development methodologies and application performance tuning.

Compensation & Benefits
- US base salary range: $165,000 - $245,000 (base only). Bonus, equity, and benefits additional.
