Role
Kernel is hiring a Founding Customer Engineer to work directly with customers and contribute to the developer platform that enables AI agents to interact with real applications. This is a hands-on role combining engineering, solutions work, and developer advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support enterprise customers with hands-on solutions engineering and embedded technical assistance
- Build open-source tools, libraries, demos, and integrations that improve developer experience
- Engage with the developer community on GitHub, Slack, and Twitter; answer questions and amplify projects
- Contribute technical content to Kernel’s blog to educate and grow developer adoption
- Influence product direction and company culture as an early founding team member
Requirements
- Proven ability to ship tools, projects, and ideas that advance a developer ecosystem
- Strong engineering background and active coding skills; emphasis on delivering great developer experience (“vibe code”)
- Experience working with developers: understanding what excites and frustrates them and how to communicate effectively
- Desire for high-impact work in a small, fast-moving team
