Join the Cybersecurity Platforms Operations team as a Security Consultant to operate, maintain, and secure a broad range of security platforms (firewalls, VPNs, anti-DDoS, IAM, etc.) for TELUS, supporting incident response, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement through automation and monitoring.

Role
As a Security Consultant on the Cybersecurity Platforms Operations team, you will operate and maintain security platforms to protect the client environment, provide hands-on support for technologies like firewalls, VPNs, anti-DDoS, and IAM, and collaborate with teams and vendors to sustain and improve security posture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational support and lifecycle management for security infrastructure
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and support critical events and incident response
- Perform configuration changes during maintenance windows
- Support investigations, incident response, and compliance checks
- Participate in risk assessments and conduct compliance checks
- Collaborate with vendors and internal automation/monitoring teams to drive continuous improvement
- Take a leading role in assigned portfolios while learning and contributing across technology areas
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma/certification with 3–5 years of equivalent experience
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CISSP, or equivalent
- Intermediate proficiency in information security and networking technologies
- Proficient with command-line interfaces, scripting languages, and network administration
- Experience with network and application security, IPS and DDoS platforms, firewall platforms, and monitoring/logging tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and technical documentation abilities
- Experience in fast-paced operational environments and on-call support
- Eligibility for Government of Canada security clearance
- Analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and commitment to continuous learning
